Sandra was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.   Having grown up in a home brimming with artistic activity, Sandra gained an early appreciation for fine art and crafts.  Sandra has enjoyed working with various mediums throughout her artistic career, but finds working with pastels especially rewarding.   "I feel that pastel is the most expressive and versatile medium," said Sandra at her most recent show. 

 Sandra has depicted a variety of subjects, but specializes in still life and landscape paintings.  Sandra has had several shows in the Northern California region around Sacramento.  She has also displayed art in local county fairs, both as a competitor and as a "Featured Artist,"  and in the California State Fair as well.  As a result, she has earned many first place awards, including "Best of Show."

 According to Sandra, "I feel as though I'm never finished perfecting my technique.  I will always be a student of art and that's the way it should be.  It's the little discoveries one makes throughout the process, the conquering of an obstacle and  the element of surprise that makes art so satisfying."  Sandra shares her studio space with an understanding husband and her muses - Italian Greyhounds, Bella and Dash.
